  1. Really?:

I see many incidents of individual shootings that resulted in a single victim and a single death or sometimes not even a death. As tragic as this is it hardly constitutes a national tragedy. If you’re trying to purport the idea of mass shootings you’re being rather dubious about it. If a single shooting victim (dead or alive) constitutes a tragedy then there should be MANY more marks on the map. If it is your intent to reveal mass shootings then you’re lying straight to our faces.

It’s not our intention to fool anybody. The title of the map is “A Summary Of School & Mass Shootings”. That means it involves mass shootings and some school shootings which didn’t necessarily end with a massacre. It would be wrong not to pay attention to those incidents which threatened lifes of innocent children in schools.

  2. Truthiness:

Though it is heart wrenching and the format this was pout into makes it ring in my ears and cry for the souls lost, it just continues to perpetuate fear in Americans that simply walking outside will result in getting shot with a gun. Over the past 4 years, we have witnesses the lowest percentage of serious violent crime with and without a gun. Sites like this I feel portrays a different message, scaring people more and not doing the victims any good.

    • Kathy E:

Unfortunately in some areas of the County you CAN get shot just walking outside. Sad..but true.

  3. InjuredMassShootingVictim:

When you are one of those numbers on the map, it puts things in a whole new sad.

“The liberty of any person to own a military-style assault weapon and a high-capacity magazine and keep them in their home is second to the right of my son to his life. Let’s honor the founding documents and get our priorities straight.” David Wheeler, who lost his son, Benjamin, on Dec. 14 – Amen.

What’s next? Knives? Bats? Get real. The only thing that will make this country safe is not letting our kids run our households. When are we going to start holding parents accountable to be parent again?

    • Enraged and Engaged on Facebook:

Dead children are about as “real” as you can get. I agree that parenting is critical. But, gun control WILL be part of the solution.

  6. Shaun:

I’m sick of the NRA / Gun Lobby Fear Industrial Complex spinning fantasies about “government takeovers” “killing of US Citizens” “gun confiscation” and using Hitler in the discussion.

Enough ! The fact is that guns kill and more guns kill more Americans.

Do we really care more about guns than life?

  7. Enraged & Engaged on Facebook:

ENOUGH. No more foot dragging. No more obfuscation. The time for debate is past, we’ve had 2 decades to debate. Now is the time for action. Keep up the momentum, keep up the pressure. We CAN make meaningful change and keep our kids safer.
